Questions

How does the quarterly tax estimator work?

As you log income throughout the year, the estimator calculates your projected annual income, applies self-employment tax (15.3% on 92.35% of net earnings) and your marginal income tax rate, divides by four, and shows what you should be paying each quarter. It includes safe harbor rules: if you pay at least 100% of last year's tax liability (110% if AGI > $150K), you avoid the underpayment penalty even if your actual tax is higher.

What's the difference between this and the Small Business Dashboard?

The Small Business Dashboard is for businesses with regular monthly revenue from operations (e.g., an e-commerce store, a consulting firm). The Freelancer Command Center is for people juggling multiple clients with irregular payment timing who need client-level profitability and 1099 reconciliation. If you have one business with steady revenue, get the Dashboard. If you have multiple clients paying you at random intervals, get the Command Center. Or get both in the Small Biz Starter Kit bundle for $39.

Can I track expenses by client?

Yes. The expense tracker has a client field. The Client P&L tab pulls client-specific expenses to show true profitability per client, not just revenue. This is how you discover that your biggest client by revenue is actually your least profitable per hour.

What's your refund policy?
